Nigerian actor Imoh Umoren, has carpeted the National Film and Video Censors Board for moving to ban cigarette smoking in films.
NFVCB’s boss, Adedayo Thomas, had said that usage of cigarette was questionable, saying it remained largely controlled in the outside world.
But Umorn, in some IG posts, accused the board of controlling an industry it did not create.
According to him, government was not there for the industry at the beginning, and it is also not creating an enabling environment for filmmakers.
