A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman in Lagos State, Chief Segun Adewale, has highlighted how it can get four million votes in the state.
This is as he called on the leadership of the party at national and state levels to fashion out a mechanism for seamless integration of defectors.
He reacted to the defection of Lagos4Lagos Movement, a splinter group within the Lagos State APC.
According to him, PDP leaders should begin to make efforts at integrating all defectors so that what should be a gain to the party would not turn a bane.
He said: “This (defection of Lagos4Lagos Movement) is good, the more the merrier.
“I believe, with the people joining us from APC and the way the PDP national body is settling differences, this is the time for us to take Lagos.
“What is left is how we are able to integrate them into the party and manage them successfully such that it would be a win-win.”
According to him, the defectors should abide by the party’s constitution and work with the leadership and everybody in the party.

Adewale added: “With this, it is possible for us to deliver Lagos for PDP. This is a good omen.
“With almost seven million registered voters in Lagos, and with this group coming in, it will be easy for us to score two million votes.
“What is the big deal if PDP has 200,000 votes in each of the 20 local government areas to make about four million votes?
It is possible with this development.”
NAN reports that former Senate President Bukola Saraki met with the leaders of the aggrieved APC members and wooed them into the PDP.
Saraki, Chairman of PDP’s National Reconciliation Committee, recently met with members of the Lagos4Lagos Movement and the group’s Leader, Mr Olajide Adediran, for the defection.
The Adediran-led faction of the APC held parallel ward, local government and state congresses at different locations in the state.
The group cited alleged marginalisation and imposition of candidates on the APC as the reason for the defection.
