The deadliness of snakebite has manifested in Abuja, where a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) woman attached to the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), Lance Corporal Ogah Bercy, has died of complications from it.
Ironically, Bercy was not bitten in a bush or other rough places.
She was attacked by the reptile inside her toilet at the NAF Base Bill Clinton Drive Abuja.
According to ‘The Nation’, Bercy died on 19 November 2021 at the NAF hospital Abuja, where she went for treatment after the snakebite.
It added that the anti-venom was not administered on time, it was reported, resulting in the death of the victim.
“She was told by the hospital that the person with the key to to where the anti-venom is stored was not around,” it quoted a source as saying.
