A 52- year-old man, Azeez Olatunji, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly damaging banners and kitchen building valued N700,000 at a construction site.
The police charged the defendant, a surveyor, who resides at 26, Omolara Okunbadejo St., Ijoko, Abule in Ogun , with alleged damage, threats to life and causing a breach of the peace.
The Prosecutor, Insp Olusegun Oke, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Aug. 31 at 2, Babalola Close , Off Awolowo Road ,Ikeja.
Oke said that a fight ensued between the defendant and the representative of O. J Sulag Builders at a construction site.
The prosecutor also said that the defendant destroyed the company’s banners , a kitchen building and a store valued N700,000.
He added that the defendant threatened to kill two people with an iron rod.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, contravene Sections 56, 168 and 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State,2015.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Magistrate, Mrs D. S. Odukoya granted the defendant bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Odukoya adjourned the case until Nov. 8 for trial.
