Star actress and producer, Genevieve Nnaji, has sought to inspire Nigerians as she celebrates its 61st Independence anniversary.
Various leaders and other stakeholders have congratulated Nigerians and urged unity, peace and patience, but despodence, poverty and a feeling of betrayal permeates every nook and cranny of the nation.
Youths particularly feel frustrated by unemployment and corruption, with the naira sinking by the day while education, health, power and other critical areas remain challenged.
All of these are compounded by deepining insecurity.
But Genevieve, producer of ‘Lion Heart’, among other works, believes that a change is possible but everyone has to make it happen.
She says in her message: “It takes heart to be Nigerian. Nigeria is not you. You are Nigeria.
“Be the reason they speak good about us wherever you are. Happy Independence to you in particular.”
