Outgoing Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC), Ms Yewande Sadiku, is a rare breed.
The declaration was made by Amb. Mariam Katagum, Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, at the handing over ceremony by Sadiku.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Monday, Mrs Oluwakemi Ogunmakinwa, the ministry’s Assistant Director, Information, quoted the minister to have said that Sadiku’s departure from the NIPC marked the end of an eventful era.
She quoted the minister as saying: “I know we will all come to appreciate you even more when we try to fill the void that you have created.’’
The minister attested to the “exceptional, strong and proactive character’’ of Ms Sadiku in the commission.
Katagum also defined her tenure as one of the remarkable and outstanding achievements of the commission.
“It is a well-known fact to everybody in the ministry that has had occasion to interact with you that you have an eye for details.
“Everyone agrees that you possess a rare combination of vision, fairness, understanding and empathy,’’ the minister said.
She enjoined Sadiku to continue to extend her hands of fellowship to her successor whenever called upon to do so.
The minister also urged the Director, Human Resources Management, NIPC, Mr Emeka Offor, who took over duties in acting capacity to emulate Ms Sadiku.
