– As they continue preparations for their next Premier League fixture against Burnley on Saturday, the 23-year-old said he is enjoying every bit of his time in Brendan Rodgers’ team and he is ready to build on his opening goal for the club.
– “Understanding my teammates was going to take some time and obviously for them to understand me also with my movements, so as time goes on, I think we’ll gel better together,” Lookman told LCFC TV.
– “I’m loving it, I’m loving every single minute. I’m trying to learn and just be a sponge and get as much information as I can. We’re looking forward to the weekend now and the Burnley game, just to recover and get right and hopefully I can feature in the game on Saturday and hopefully just help the team.
– “I’ll be ready. It’s my job to be ready, to be available for all the games and that’s what I look to do. I just look forward to every single game. They’re not just [physical], they play football as well so it’s going to be another battle, another hard match for us and we need to be ready and hopefully get the result.
– “Every game is important. I think if we battle and show our quality as we did [against Millwall], I think we’ll do the job.”
– Lookman reflected on Wednesday’s goal and he described Super Eagles talisman Iheanacho as a ‘great finisher’ after he secured their passage to the League Cup fourth round with his 88th minute effort.
– “I’m delighted to get my first Leicester goal,” he added. “I’m just happy to get it in front of the fans as well, so hopefully it’s the first of many.
– “I knew Kelechi was going to shoot and I just followed it in really and cushioned it into the net. It’s always nice to score, I’m glad.
– “Kelechi is a great finisher as we know and off the crossbar and in, it doesn’t come much sweeter than that!”
