The Academic Staff Unionn of Universities has accused the Federal Government of shunning its correspondnces on the need for the governmrnt to honour the agreement they reached.
It said its officials are currently in Abuja, trying to see government officials, while also planning ASUU’s next move.
The lecturers had issues notice of possible return to industrial action over the failure to act on their agreement.
‘The Punch’, in a story on Wednesday, quoted ASUU President Emmanuel Oshodeke, as saying,
“Nothing yet, not a single response from the government. For now, we are in Abuja we are meeting soon. No single response from the government. We are meeting this weekend in Abuja. We want to see what we can do between now and Friday to see them. Despite the letter we wrote to them and the press conferences, they are not bothered because nothing is at stake for them.”

The paper, however, also quoted the Minister of Education, Emeka Nwajuba, as saying the FG was not shunning ASUU, and that it was working on the issues involved.
