At 43, ‘I am a Danfo Driver’, African China can no more be said to be a child.
As a matter of fact, he is no more a youth.
Yet, some two decades after he reigned, he still exudes a size and looks that will make many people treat him far younger than his age.
He says the secret behind such lukcy looks is that he stays moderate in terms of lifestyle.
According to him, he obeys nature and his doctors while he also takes Forver products – though he notes they ar expensive.
But it is not every time that his younger-than-your-age outlook attracts positivity to him.
It was the reason a policeman handled him with spite not long ago.
In an interview with ‘The Nation’, African China nartaes his ordeal:
“Last year on my way to a show, a policeman stopped me thinking I was a yahoo boy. I sat at the back of the car. He saw me like a young boy. He did not ask for the particulars of the vehicle but came down to order me to come down. I said, ‘don’t be rude.’ He took offence and started threatening to deal with me. I told him that when I started making money he never dreamt of joining the Police Force.
“Most policemen you see joined because of frustration and laziness. As long as your service is superior, your promotion is certain. I have seen it all. I asked him whether he knew about the first Police Game in Abuja. I was part of it. I told him not to intimidate people rather interrogate and investigate. That was why when #Endsars came, I took it upon myself to be part of it. I was at so many of the rallies. I have come a long way.
“When the harassment was ongoing, I called the Commissioner of Police and some other top police officers but they didn’t pick but as the harassment went on, I posted it and immediately calls started coming. The PPRO called me to identify the officer, if you saw how neat he was compared to the tattered way he looked, you will just wonder.
“I think these people need to go to school and attend courses. They should create a school of thought for them. The old should give way to the new and let everybody be responsible in his or her post. Not just the police force but the life of a Nigerian in general. How can Ghana that we sent packing now become the giant of Africa right now? Take it or leave it.”
