Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, has secured relief in an Oyo High Court which has restrained the Department of State Security from arresting him.
The court also restrained the DSS from blocking his account or intimidating him.
Justice Ladiean Akintola of Oyo High Court granted an ex-parte motion restraining the DSS and the Attorney General of the Federation from “arresting, intimidating, harassing, and blocking bank accounts’ of the man now facing extradition trial in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
He was arrested alongside his wife, Ropo, while trying to travel to Germany, after the DSS stormed his home in Ibadan, where two people were killed during what it referred to as a gun duel.
The raid has been widely condemned.
The order was granted following an ex-parte motion moved by his lawyer Chief Yomi Aliu (SAN) at the court on Wednesday.
The motion developed from the originating motion seeking N500 billion damages for invasion of his house in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on July 1.
Aliu expressed confidence the AGF Abubakar Malami (SAN) will not disobey the court order, stressing that it was given directly against his office.
