It is a tough moment for gospel singer, Tope Alabi.
A disparaging comment she made about the song of a younger singer, Yinka Alaseyori, has landed her in the negative side of the people’s court.
Online, especially on Facebook, she is currently like the number one figure to mock and hit.
The wahala started on Saturday June 12 when a video in which she criticises Alaseyori’s ‘Oniduro Mi’ surfaced online.
Alabi’s argument is that Alaseyori is limiting the power of God/Jesus Christ because Oniduro Mi simply means guarantor.
She believes the divine powers are far greater in status than a guarantor.
But this does not go down well with a majority of those who have watched it as they claim she is only trying to bring down the singer.
The issue is degenerating into another battle, if not scandal, she has to fight.
In recent times, she has had to stand amid the controversy concerning her first daughter’s paternity as he (daughter) is disowning her real father for allegedly abandoning her.
Also, Tope Alabi met with serious heat when she burst out in a gush of gbese dance, which many consider to be wordily.
Not long ago, too, a feud broke out between a cleric who was once regarded as her spiritual father, with different insinuations made then.
The cleric, Prophet Ajanaku, died not long after.
The current saga is one on which even celebrities are speaking and they are mostly not supporting her.
Apart from criticising Alabi, some have dug out some videos in which they believe she sings like someone far from being in the spirit.
While she says ‘Oti Jesu n pa mi’ (I am drunk of Jesus wine/alcohol), she is quoted as justifying Yahoo Boys business in the other:
