Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has spoken on his selection into the All Progressives Congress Contract and Strategy Committee.
Chairman of the party’s Caretaker Committee, Mala Bui, announced his name alongside 60 others to prepare it for upcoming events, including the convention.
Reacting via a tweet on Tuesday, Ambode, who has remained in the background since 2019 when he left office dramatically, having failed to get a second term, said: “Along with other notable and distinguished colleagues, I was today selected by our party, the All Progressives Congress, to be a member of the Contact and Strategy Committee. This is a call to serve the Party and more importantly, our nation.”
His estranged godfather, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is known to be aspiring to run for the presidency, with pundits unsure of what role Ambode would play in the circumstance.
