Two top American singers, Drake and Wyclef are currently showing symbolic interest in Nigeria – although in different contexts.
While the Nigerian music industry has, as a whole, won the hearts of many stakeholders globally, the duo seems to have special interests that they cannot stop exclaiming.
For Drake, his inroad into the heart of Nigeria currently appears to be singer Niniola, whom he has continued to demonstrate some form of attachment to.
After following her on social media a few weeks ago, he went on to show love for her by requesting her song, Madona, while with Tiffany Calver on BBC 1xtra
This understandably excited Niniola, who croons on Instagram, “When your new Bestie @champagnepapi starts to watch Ur back while co-hosting the show Lastnite with @tiffanycalver @bbc1xtra.”
On the part of Wyclef, he has not only joined the #FvckYouChallenge, he has also declared that he is a Nigerian:
“Happy Sunday to the world thank you to @iamkissdaniel I accept the #FvckYouChallenge “I just took my D N A test!!!! 100 percent Nigerian Baba” #FvckYou #FvckYouSeason #FvckYouChallenge #ReturnOfTheBaba #WyclefJean @headsmusic: @thruhazeleyes.”
