Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has received a group of defectors from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Speaking at the ceremony in Doma, headquarters of Doma Local Government Area (LGA) of the state, Sule assured the defectors of equal treatment among members of the party.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the defectors were led by Mr John Osewu, the lawmaker representing Doma South at the state House of Assembly.

The governor also appreciated the lawmaker for the bold step he took to join APC.

” I want to assure you and your supporters of equal rights and other privileges like other members of the APC,” he said.

Sule also lauded the people of Doma for their support for his administration.
The governor, however, urged the people of the state to continue to embrace peace for the overall development of the state.
Also speaking, the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, who hailed from Doma, said with the defection of Osewu and other members into APC, would strengthen the party in the area.

Akabe assured the governor of the people’s support to his administration at all times.

In his remarks, Osewu explained that his defection was due to the developmental strides of Sule.

He also assured of quality representation at the state assembly to enable the people of the area to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

The event was attended by politicians, party faithful and other well-wishers.
