Lalong: Another governor tests positive for coronavirus

As Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Nasir el-Rufai remain in isolation, another governor has tested positive for coronavirus.

He is Plateau State’s Simon Lalong, who has also gone into isolation.

Some other governors, including Bauchi’s Muhammed Bala, Oyo’s Seyi Makinde and Ondo’s Akeredolu, had earlier contracted the pandemic.

The Director of Press & Public Affairs to the Governor, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, in a statement on Thursday, December 17, said the test result of a tested Lalong did indicated that Governor Lalong’s test returned positive while all members of his family tested negative.

As a result, the Governor will henceforth work from home during the period of treatment. All State matters requiring the Governor’s physical presence will be handled by the Deputy Governor.
