A police officer has been killed and two other officers wounded in a suspected terrorists’ ambush in Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, on Tuesday, a local TV channel reports.
The report by Tolo News TV said that the police were standing outside a police checkpoint in Butkhak locality in Police District 12, east of Kabul, when the armed men opened fire on them.
The shooting incident reportedly occurred at about 6:30 a.m. local time and the assailants fled the scene immediately.
Authorities said an investigation has been launched into the incident, according to the report.
Tuesday’s shooting was the latest in a string of targeted shooting in Afghanistan, particularly in its capital city, Kabul.
A judge was killed in a shooting over the weekend.
No group has yet to claim responsibility for the attack.
