US President-elect, Joe Biden, has raised the hope of immigrants and refugees to the much-sought country.

Immigrants have had rough deals under President Donald Trump who introduced rules that restrict access by immigrants, refugees and other Non-Americans.

Some of the rules restricted citizenship while one of the latest cut years the country used to allow foreign students.

But Biden said on Thursday that he would give the visitors a fair deal.

He revealed this during a conversation with Pope Francis, who congratulated him on his victory.

The Pope is particularly happy because Biden is a Catholic, and the second Catholic to e President in the US – after John F. Kennedy

His transition committee said on Thursday:
“The president-elect thanked His Holiness for extending blessings and congratulations and noted his appreciation for His Holiness’ leadership in promoting peace, reconciliation, and the common bonds of humanity around the world,” a readout of the call read.
“He expressed his desire to work together on the basis of a shared belief in the dignity and equality of all humankind on issues such as caring for the marginalized and the poor, addressing the crisis of climate change, and welcoming and integrating immigrants and refugees into our communities.”
