Fuji artiste, Alao Malaika, has said that he is hale and hearty and that he was not injured on Thursday as is being rumoured.
There are reports that he was injured during fracas that broke out the Pako Playing Ground in Alimosho, Lagos, in which two people were said to have died.
But in a Facebook post on Friday, Malaika said he and his band members were not affected.
He noted:
“Contrary to rumours making the rounds that the Qibla of Fuji, Alayeluwa Sulaimon Alao Adekunle Malaika was attacked and injured by thugs at a performance held in Alimosho Local Government yesterday, March 28, 2019 we want to state that nothing of such happened.
“Malaika as well as members of his band performed to the delight of the majority of the crowd who were present at the Pako playing ground, including Hon Jelili Sulaiman, chairman Alimosho Local Government and Hon Abiodun Ejigbadero .
“Upon noticing that a few people were quarelling with themselves around 9.45pm, Malaika stopped performing and eventually left the ground at about 10.10 pm without a scratch on him or his car as well as his bandmen who all left for their various homes.
“It was about 2 hours later, while shooting a musical video alongside an Islamic artiste inside Punch Estate that he heard that the oerson who began the fight had died. It wasn’t until this afternoon that we learnt that the equipment he used, which by the way is not his but was contracted and paid for by the organisers, was burnt around 3am.”
