US President Donald Trump has announced a $1 million reward for anyone who reports voter fraud in past or upcoming United States elections, provided the information leads to an arrest and conviction.
Trump made the announcement on Monday night, October 26, in a post on his Truth Social platform before discussing the proposal with reporters.
“Anybody reporting Voter Fraud in the past Elections, or the upcoming 2026 Midterm Election, will be paid $1,000,000 upon the arrest and conviction of those that created the Fraud,” Trump wrote.
Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One for a campaign rally in Corinth, Mississippi, Trump said he would offer a $1 million bonus or reward to anyone whose report led to an arrest and conviction.
Trump has repeatedly made claims of widespread voter fraud in past elections that have not been substantiated.
He did not disclose whether the proposed rewards would be funded with government money or his personal resources.
Last week, Trump announced a separate programme offering payments to tipsters who help uncover fraud in government programmes. He said whistleblowers would receive a “commission” of one per cent of the money recovered, with no limit on the amount they could collect.
Ahead of the midterm elections, Trump has also sent $500 rebate checks to about one million Americans whom he said were overcharged for health insurance purchased through the Affordable Care Act’s federal exchange. He also announced $90 payments to 21 million seniors, funded by diverting money from a Medicare improvement fund.
