Nollywood actor Chijioke Temidayo Nwokafor, popularly known as Cjay, has died.
His death was announced on Wednesday by his colleague, actress Nkechi Blessing, who shared the news in an emotional Instagram video after visiting a hospital in Badore, Lagos, where the actor was pronounced dead.
The cause of Cjay’s death has not been disclosed, while details of his funeral arrangements were also yet to be made public.
Blessing, who said she spoke with Cjay earlier on Wednesday, described his death as a shock and mourned the actor in an emotional tribute.
Cjay, who hailed from Awka, Anambra State, and was based in Lagos, began his professional acting career in 2021.
He featured in several Nollywood productions, including “Larry Cold,” “Mum Overnight,” “A Day to My Wedding,” “The Lies She Tell” and “What Time Left.”
Following his death, Blessing cancelled the scheduled release of her movie, “Egusi Ogbono,” in which Cjay featured. The film had been scheduled for release at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
Other colleagues and fans have also mourned the actor’s death.
