The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has provided five vehicles to strengthen the operations of its Air Warfare and Doctrine Centre.
The vehicles, comprising four Toyota Camry cars and a Coaster bus, were unveiled in Abuja on Tuesday by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, who was represented by the Chief of Logistics at NAF Headquarters, AVM Henry Yurkusi.
Aneke said modern warfare required not only capable aircraft and advanced equipment but also sound doctrines, professional military education, effective operational planning and institutions that could translate lessons into improved combat effectiveness.
He described the vehicles as an investment in the centre’s capacity, noting that they would support operational coordination, supervision, training programmes and other essential assignments.
The air chief directed the centre’s commandant to ensure proper control, maintenance and use of the vehicles, with accountability and compliance with regulations remaining priorities.
He also reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to personnel welfare and urged officers and air personnel to maintain discipline and professionalism.
Earlier, the Commandant of the centre, AVM Garba Jibia, said the institution was responsible for reviewing and developing NAF doctrines, teaching operational competencies, coordinating military exercises and advising on operational readiness.
He added that the centre had also been mandated to coordinate air-ground integration and civilian harm mitigation for the Armed Forces of Nigeria to improve joint counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations.
Jibia thanked Aneke for providing the vehicles, saying they would ease personnel movement, address logistical challenges and boost staff morale. He assured the air chief that the vehicles would be properly maintained and used to improve operational efficiency.
