MTN Nigeria has introduced Y’ello Y’Fi, a managed enterprise offering that consolidates Wi-Fi connectivity with customer analytics and network controls for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The product addresses a structural gap in the SME segment, where businesses typically run consumer-grade Wi-Fi infrastructure without any mechanism for capturing or interpreting the customer data it generates. Y’ello Y’Fi converts that access layer into an engagement channel through customisable login pages, device management, promotional campaign tools and brand-personalised landing pages.
Lynda Saint-Nwafor, Chief Enterprise Business Officer at MTN Nigeria, frames the offering around that data deficit. “Small businesses need more than connectivity to compete and grow. They need tools that help them understand their customers, improve engagement, and make smarter decisions,” she said.
According to Saint-Nwafor, the platform provides SMEs with branded digital experiences, actionable insights and network controls, aimed at making digital solutions “smarter, more accessible, and more relevant to the everyday realities of doing business in Nigeria.”
The analytics layer delivers real-time visibility into usage patterns and customer preferences, feeding directly into marketing strategy and retention. The network management layer separates staff and guest access paths while governing device, user and bandwidth allocation — a control structure that becomes more consequential as SMEs scale headcount and connected endpoints.
MTN Nigeria positions the launch within its broader enterprise strategy, targeting the insight, visibility and control functions that smaller businesses have historically lacked the internal capacity to build.
The operator, which has operated in Nigeria since 2001, connects more than 89.5 million people nationwide.
