A Kano State High Court has remanded three defendants in a custodial facility over the alleged kidnapping and murder of a boy.

The defendants, Hajara Sani, Hayatullah Armayau and Jibin Ado, were arraigned on charges of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and culpable homicide. They all pleaded not guilty after the charges were read to them.

The prosecution counsel, Lamido Abba Soran Dinki, alongside Iliyasu Ibrahim, presented the defendants before the court.

The court ordered their remand and adjourned the case until December 4, 2026, for the commencement of witness hearings.

The prosecution alleged that Sani, who worked in the deceased boy’s family home, abducted Aliyu Haidar and took him to Hayatullah and Jibin, who allegedly conspired to demand a ransom of ₦2 million.

However, when the ransom was not paid, the defendants allegedly killed the boy.

The incident occurred in Gobirawa village, Rano Local Government Area of Kano State.
