A Magistrates’ Court in Jos on Tuesday sentenced a 45-year-old trader, Barminas Thomas, to three months’ imprisonment for swindling a woman of N52,000.
Magistrate Irene Pati sentenced Thomas after he pleaded guilty to cheating, but gave him an option of N100,000 fine.
She also ordered him to refund N52,000 to the complainant, Kyenpiya Monday.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that Monday reported the case on Aug. 30 at the “A” Division Police Station.
