The Federal High Court in Abuja has affirmed Mr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as the Accord Party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
Justice Mohammed Umar, in a judgment, held that evidence showed Olawepo-Hashim emerged as the party’s sole presidential candidate at a primary election conducted on May 30.
The court ordered Accord Party to recognise Olawepo-Hashim as its candidate and immediately forward his name to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for upload on its portal.
Justice Umar said the party was wrong to deny Olawepo-Hashim recognition after collecting N50 million from him for nomination and expression of interest forms.
Olawepo-Hashim had filed the suit against Accord Party and INEC, seeking an order compelling the party to forward his name to INEC as its validly nominated presidential candidate.
