The latest summer transfer window has officially closed, and European clubs once again had major breakthroughs.

​Here are the top five biggest spenders of the window:

​1. Manchester City (~£451M): City topped the charts after a massive transfer deadline day. Their window was headlined by the British-record signing of midfielder Enzo Fernández from Chelsea and the addition of Elliot Anderson.

​2. Chelsea (~£348M): Chelsea continued their squad development . Their biggest splash came in a £117m deal for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers, alongside defensive arrival Maxence Lacroix.

​3. Tottenham Hotspur (~£314M): Spurs backed their project heavily, dropping major fees on Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and winger Savinho.
