The Police Command in Niger State has rescued two abducted victims and neutralised three suspected kidnappers in New-Bussa.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Minna.
Abiodun said that on September 10, at about 7:30 p.m., the New-Bussa Area Command received a report from Wako village that suspected armed men had abducted two persons and were demanding ransom.
He said the surveillance team attached to the area command subsequently commenced investigation and mobilised alongside vigilante members to Wawa Forest for a rescue operation.
According to him, the suspected kidnappers were intercepted during the operation, leading to a gun battle between the security team and the hoodlums.
He said the two abducted victims were rescued unhurt, while three suspects were neutralised. Others escaped with bullet injuries.
