Alhaji Muktar Galadima, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency in Taraba, has promised to inaugurate a 50-bed capacity hospital in Ibi within the next few months.
Galadima made the declaration on Sunday at the official flag-off of his 2027 campaign for the House of Representatives election in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba.
He said the hospital, which was nearing completion, was his personal project aimed at addressing healthcare challenges in Ibi.
Galadima also promised to create jobs through partnerships with organisations that would equip youths in his constituency with skills to become self-employed if elected.
He pledged to prioritise grassroots development, youth empowerment, women’s participation and initiatives aimed at improving the economic wellbeing of his constituents.
The candidate also promised to support legislation that would move mining to the Concurrent List, allowing states and local communities to carry out mining activities within their domains if elected.
Galadima pledged to remain accessible to the people, saying regular consultation with constituents would form a major part of his approach to legislative representation.
He urged supporters to intensify mobilisation across the wards and communities of Ibi and Wukari, stressing the importance of unity and sustained grassroots engagement.
He appealed to voters to support his candidacy, promising to make the interests of the constituency central to his legislative agenda.
Galadima thanked party members and supporters for their confidence in his candidacy and urged them to remain united and committed to the PDP.
Speaking at the event, the Taraba State Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Ibrahim Sale, called on supporters to work collectively to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure and improve its chances at the polls.
He also appealed to political actors and supporters to conduct their campaigns peacefully and avoid actions capable of creating tension among communities.
The flag-off in Wukari marked the formal commencement of Galadima’s campaign for the Ibi/Wukari Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
