OPay is expanding its N1.2 billion scholarship programme to cover 41 tertiary institutions by the end of 2026, broadening access to education for thousands of Nigerian students.

The fintech company currently partners with 25 institutions following the signing of a new Memorandum of Understanding with Miva Open University.

Plans are underway to add 16 more institutions before the year closes.

The initiative forms part of the broader OPay Scholars Programme, which also includes the OPay National Innovation Challenge in partnership with Google and 3MTT, alongside OPay Futures.

The 10-year programme is designed to ease financial pressure on students and families, helping beneficiaries remain in school and complete their degrees without the burden of funding uncertainty
