Lionel Messi has officially expanded his business portfolio into professional European football after agreeing to buy 100% of Spanish second-division club CD Eldense.
The Argentine legend matched the €12 million valuation set by the previous owners, TH Soluciones Group, taking full control of the Alicante-based side as the sole investor. This marks Messi’s second club buyout in Spain—following his takeover of lower-league side UE Cornellà—making CD Eldense his very first fully professional club ownership.
The deal is pending final legal paperwork and approval from Spain’s High Council for Sports (CSD). Messi will now look to stabilize the club and appoint a new manager after Eldense parted ways with Claudio Barragán following a tough start to the Segunda División season.
