Manchester City opened their Champions League campaign with a solid 2-0 victory away against FC Porto at the Estádio do Dragão.
While Erling Haaland stole the headlines by scoring both goals—heading home an Enzo Fernández cross right after halftime before slotting in a late second in stoppage time—it was new signing Ayyoub Bouaddi who caught everyone’s eye in midfield.
The 18-year-old mid-field gem, recently signed from Lille, put in a composed and brilliant performance in the engine room, pulling the strings alongside Phil Foden in the build-up to several big chances. Haaland even praised the youngster after the final whistle, calling him a real “gem” for the squad.
