Francis Orbih, President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN), has urged Eniola Bolaji to remain focused and build on her gold medal victory at the 2026 Peru Para Badminton International.
Bolaji, a Paralympic Games bronze medallist and world number two, defeated Brazil’s Kauana Beckenkamp 2-0 (21-12, 21-12) in the women’s SL3 final on Sunday in Lima, Peru.
Orbih commended her performance, describing the victory as evidence of her consistency, determination and ability to overcome challenges.
He said the Peru International formed part of Bolaji’s preparations for the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, urging her to maintain her momentum as she targets further international success.
Bolaji reached the final after defeating Brazil’s Maria Da Silva Abinaecia 2-0 (21-7, 21-6), Croatia’s Gabriela Montero 2-0 (21-2, 21-1) and Mexico’s Maria Rojas Peres 2-0 (21-6, 21-9).
Orbih also appreciated GIG Logistics, Yonex and the National Sports Commission for their contributions to Bolaji’s development.
The 2026 Peru Para Badminton International was held from Aug. 3 to Aug. 9 in Lima.
