Barcelona maintained their perfect start to the LaLiga season after storming to a 5-2 victory over Rayo Vallecano at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Rayo actually took a shock lead early on when Sergio Camello finished off a cutback in the 12th minute. But Barcelona answered back almost immediately. Raphinha slotted home the equalizer in the 19th minute, and just two minutes later, Lamine Yamal curled a brilliant left-footed strike into the top corner to complete the quick turnaround.
The second half brought even more goal action. Rayo defender Florian Lejeune unluckily turned an Anthony Gordon cross into his own net in the 51st minute to make it 3-1. Camello pulled one back for Rayo with a header from a corner shortly after, but Barça’s attack was simply too strong to contain.
Raphinha bagged his second goal of the night in the 71st minute after a slick backheel assist from Gordon. Lamine Yamal then wrapped up the victory in the 90th minute, placing a low left-footed shot into the bottom corner to complete his brace and seal an emphatic 5-2 win.
The victory keeps Hansi Flick’s side top of LaLiga with nine points from three matches.
