Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina State has flagged off the N5.4 billion Mashi Township Road Dualisation Project to improve infrastructure and ease transportation in the area.

The project involves the construction of a three-kilometre dual carriageway in Mashi Town, Mashi Local Government Area.

Speaking at the inauguration on Tuesday, Radda said the project reflects his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and improving the lives of residents across the state.

He said every project undertaken by the government was selected based on its potential to enhance economic growth and the wellbeing of the people, assuring that all local government areas would benefit from meaningful development.

The governor commended Mothercat Nigeria Limited and the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transportation, led by Commissioner Sani Magaji, for their commitment to the project.

Radda said the road would boost commercial activities, reduce accidents and improve the outlook of Mashi Town, urging the contractor to deliver quality work within the stipulated timeframe. He also called on residents to protect the project.

Also speaking, the member representing Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency, Salisu Yusuf-Majigiri, commended the governor for the initiative, noting that both Mashi and Dutsi had benefited from key road projects under the administration.

As a mark of appreciation, the lawmaker presented a horse to the governor on behalf of the people of Mashi and Dutsi.
