Barcelona have pulled off a surprise late move in the transfer window to sign Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal in a deal worth €10m plus add-ons.

After Barcelona’s pursuit of Atlético Madrid’s Julián Álvarez fell through completely, the Catalan side turned their focus toward north London. With Arsenal opening the door for exits and Jesus falling behind in Mikel Arteta’s rotation, the Brazilian striker flew out to complete his medical and sign a two-year contract with an option for another season.

The biggest question now hanging over Camp Nou is whether Jesus can finally regain the sharpness and electrifying form that made him one of Europe’s top forwards. His spell at Arsenal was heavily disrupted by endless medical setbacks, particularly severe knee issues and cruciate ligament tears that effectively kept him sidelined or struggling to regain momentum over a brutal two-year span.

Now at 29, this move to La Liga gives Jesus the ultimate clean slate. Taking on a new role in Spain offers him the ideal chance to reignite his career, prove his fitness on the big stage, and remind the football world what he can do when fully healthy.
