The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the Aug. 15 Osun election, Bola Oyebamiji, has pledged that his administration will not be guided by hypocrisy if elected.
Oyebamiji made the remarks during a political campaign in Ilesa on Thursday ahead of the election.
“We are not going to lie to the people or deceive them.
“I can assure you that our government will not be guided by hypocrisy,” he said.
He also assured that he would not concentrate state resources in one community or town, pledging to govern fairly and responsibly.
Highlighting his experience in both the private and public sectors, Oyebamiji said he spent 30 years in the banking industry, rising to the position of General Manager.
“Throughout my career, my record remained clean. I was never issued a single query or invited by the police until I retired from the sector,” he said.
The APC candidate added that he had served as Head of the Osun State Investment Company Limited, Commissioner for Finance, and later Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
“I have spent the last 16 years undergoing practical training and acquiring the experience needed to govern the state effectively.
“I am adequately prepared and I have the required experience,” he said.
Oyebamiji also promised to complete all abandoned projects in Ilesa if elected.
“Our budget will be based on citizens’ needs. We will give the people what they want, not what we want,” he said.
In his remarks, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, prayed for Oyebamiji’s success at the polls.
The traditional ruler also commended the Federal Government for the dualisation of the Ibadan-Ife-Ilesa road.
