Manchester United have completed the signing of Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa in a deal worth £36 million.
The 29-year-old has signed a five-year contract at Old Trafford, becoming the club’s second midfield signing of the summer following the £50 million arrival of Andrey Santos from Chelsea.
Speaking after the move was confirmed, Tielemans expressed his delight at joining the Premier League giants.

“I have had the privilege of experiencing success in the game, and it has only increased my determination to achieve more. The ambition from everyone at the club is extremely clear; we are all determined to push for the biggest trophies over the coming years.”
Manchester United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, described Tielemans as “one of the most outstanding midfielder in the Premier League”, saying the Belgian possesses “all of the technical qualities, ambition and mentality” needed to succeed at Old Trafford.
Tielemans joined Aston Villa in 2023 on a free transfer after leaving Leicester City. During his time at Villa Park, he made 134 appearances and scored 10 goals for the club.
