The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has contained a fire involving a gas-laden tanker at Ola Farm Bus Stop on Abaranje Road, Ikotun, with no casualty recorded.
The agency said the tanker caught fire after hitting a road bump at high speed, causing the driver to lose control and a tyre to burst.
LASEMA, working with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, quickly extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to nearby buildings and road users.
The operation was supported by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the police, who managed traffic and crowd control.
The agency said the fire had been completely extinguished, while efforts were ongoing to evacuate the tanker and restore normal traffic.
LASEMA urged motorists to observe speed limits, especially around road bumps and residential areas, stressing that compliance with traffic regulations would help protect lives and property.
