A Federal High Court in Kaduna has ordered the remand of a 26-year-old woman, Felicia Gregory, over alleged possession of 26 kilograms of cannabis sativa and four grams of methamphetamine.
Gregory, who was arraigned by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on a one-count charge of possession of illicit drugs, pleaded guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Mr T.J. Atserhegh, told the court that NDLEA operatives arrested the defendant in possession of the prohibited substances.
Following her plea, the prosecutor requested a short adjournment to enable the prosecution review the facts of the case and urged the court to remand the defendant in custody.
Justice Hawau’u Buhari granted the application and ordered that Gregory be remanded at a correctional facility pending further proceedings.
The case was adjourned until Aug. 31 for review of facts.
