The Founder and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi, has urged Nigerians not to lose hope despite the country’s economic and security challenges.
Kumuyi, who is also the convener of the Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK), made the appeal on Tuesday during a courtesy visit to Hyacinth Alia in Makurdi.
The cleric, who is in Benue State for a six-day global crusade scheduled to hold in Gboko and Otukpo, said concerns over insecurity should not lead to hopelessness or a culture of blame.
According to him, lasting solutions to Nigeria’s challenges would come through humility, prayer and genuine repentance before God.
He also called on Nigerians to embrace love, unity and forgiveness instead of conflict and division.
Kumuyi explained that the crusade was designed to spread a message of hope from Benue State to the rest of Nigeria and the world.
He expressed confidence that God would answer the prayers of the people and restore peace, stability and progress to the nation.
The cleric also congratulated Benue State on its 50th anniversary, describing it as a state that has recorded remarkable progress despite its challenges.
According to him, the state’s achievements in infrastructure, education and governance reflect God’s grace and purpose.
Kumuyi said Benue occupies a special place in his heart, noting that he postponed an earlier date for the crusade to allow the state celebrate its golden jubilee.
He disclosed that the programme would begin in Gboko before moving to Otukpo, with millions of viewers across about 180 countries expected to participate through global broadcasts.
The preacher expressed optimism that the spiritual impact of the crusade would first transform Benue before extending to the rest of Nigeria and other parts of the world.
Earlier, Governor Alia, represented by his deputy, Sam Ode, said his administration believes that sustainable development is driven not only by physical infrastructure but also by spiritual renewal, moral values and the fear of God.
He expressed confidence that the crusade would bring salvation, healing, restoration and renewed hope, while promoting lasting peace across the state.
Alia also commended Kumuyi’s decades of ministry, describing him as a respected global Christian leader whose humility, integrity and commitment to preaching the gospel have earned him widespread admiration.
The governor urged residents to participate actively in the crusade and pray for lasting peace, security, unity and development in Benue State and Nigeria.
He further assured Kumuyi that the state would be delighted to host him again for future crusades.
