Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has said there is a need to prosecute online activist VDM over a voice note he circulated, linking it to President Bola Tinubu.
Onanuga on Wednesday called for legal action against the social media influencer whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, saying the audio is fake.
He made the remarks in a post on X, while reacting to controversy surrounding an audio recording circulating online and allegedly attributed to President Tinubu.
“This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu. This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social media platform,” Onanuga wrote.
The presidential aide’s comments followed a post by an X user identified as Aneex, who questioned claims that the voice in the recording belonged to the President.
