Former Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has stressed his support for the Deputy State Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the upcoming governorship election.
In a message he posted on his Facebook Page on Tuesday, he noted that Hamzat’s emergence was not by accident.
He wrote:
MESSAGE TO ALL LOYAL PARTY MEMBERS AND THE GOOD PEOPLE OF LAGOS STATE
Our dear brothers and sisters across the 57 Local Governments and LCDAs of Lagos State,
This is a defining moment for us as a movement, as a party, and as a people. Emotions may be high, opinions may differ, and concerns are understandable—but history has always shown that unity is the foundation of victory.
Today, we stand at a crossroads where loyalty, discipline, and collective vision must guide our actions.
The emergence of Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat as the consensus candidate is not by accident—it is a product of deep consultation, experience, and trust within the leadership structure of our great party. Leadership is not always about immediate popularity; it is about capacity, continuity, and the ability to deliver results when it matters most.
We must remember the legacy and direction set by Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other respected leaders who have built Lagos into what it is today. Their guidance is rooted in long-term progress, not short-term sentiment.
To every grassroots member: Your voice matters. Your sacrifices matter. Your loyalty matters. But at this moment, what matters most is our unity.
Let us not allow temporary dissatisfaction to destroy years of structure, and political strength we have built together.
This is not the time to divide—this is the time to align.
We assure you:
This candidate understands the pulse of the people.
He has been part of the system that works.
He will listen, adjust, and deliver when given the mandate.
Lagos cannot afford experimentation—we must build on continuity and tested leadership.
To our brothers and sisters in every part of Lagos—indigenes and non-indigenes alike—this is your home. This is your future. This is your Lagos.
Let us move forward together with one voice:
“One Alliance. One Vision. One Lagos.”
Stand firm. Stay calm. Trust the process. Victory is certain when we move as one.
HAMZAT 2027 – LAGOS FORWARD!
