The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Akinyemi recently assumed duty as the State Comptroller of NIS.

Oba Ogunwusi appreciated Akinyemi and his team for the visit, describing it as a demonstration of respect and recognition for the role of traditional rulers in governance and societal development.

The traditional ruler reaffirmed his longstanding relationship with the Nigeria Immigration Service and commended the service for its critical role in safeguarding the nation’s borders.

“I thank you for this honour. I have a very strong relationship with your agency, and I appreciate the work you are doing for our country. God will bless you,” the Ooni said.

Oba Ogunwusi assured the comptroller of his full support, stressing that the palace would continue to collaborate with security agencies for the peace, stability, and development of society.

Speaking, Akinyemi expressed delight at the opportunity to meet with the Ooni, and described the traditional ruler as a revered leader whose influence transcends cultural boundaries.

He noted that his visit was not only to pay homage but also to establish a cordial working relationship with the palace.

“I am here to pay a visit and to receive royal blessings. I am always happy to see Your Majesty, and I am deeply honoured to be here today,” he said.

The comptroller emphasised the importance of collaboration between the NIS and traditional institutions, particularly in areas of intelligence gathering, border control awareness, and community engagement.
