The Nasrul-Lahi-il-Fatih Society (NASFAT) on Sunday inaugurated a new set of Zonal Executive members to oversee its activities across Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara in the next two years.
Inaugurating the executive members, NASFAT National President, Alhaji Ayodeji Abdulrauf, commended the zone for its sustained commitment to the growth of the society and dedication to Islamic teachings.
Abdulrauf, who was represented by the Vice-President II, Alhaji Maroof Ajiroba, said NASFAT, as a prominent Nigerian-based international Islamic organisation, remained focused on Islamic propagation, education and community empowerment.
“Your sustained commitment to the development of the society is commendable.
“As leaders, you must uphold trust, justice and fairness in your dealings with members and the society at large,” he said.
The president congratulated the newly inaugurated executives and prayed for wisdom and success in the discharge of their responsibilities.
In his remarks, the Zonal Chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Ajibola, who was re-elected for a second term, appreciated members for their continued support.
Ajibola said members’ commitment had strengthened the leadership and enhanced their capacity to serve effectively.
He called for sustained support from members, while assuring transparency and inclusive leadership during his tenure.
Delivering a lecture titled: “Leadership and Followership”, the NASFAT Zonal Missioner, Sheikh Muftau Alani, described leadership in Islam as a trust that requires accountability and responsibility.
Alani said leadership must be guided by justice, consultation, mercy and accountability, while followership demands respect, obedience and constructive engagement.
He urged the new executives to work in unity, peace and harmony for the progress of the society.
Alani also called on members across the zone to support the new leadership for the overall development of NASFAT nationwide.
The inaugurated officials included Alhaji Aliyu Abdulrahman (Vice-Chairman), Alhaji Tafa Taofeek (Secretary), Alhaji Ismael Suleiman (Financial Secretary) and Rahmat Abdulazeez (Women Secretary).
Others were Abdulsalam Amidu (Internal Audit Secretary), Rasheedat Ibrahim (Economic Empowerment Secretary), Lawal Abdulrafiu (Membership Secretary), Sani Almaroof (Education Secretary) and Lukman Sulaiman (Welfare Secretary).
Also inaugurated were Mashud Nurudeen (Health Services Secretary), Kabir Ibrahim (Public Relations Secretary), Ibrahim Badamasi (Youth Secretary) and Shakiru Owelomonshe (Security Secretary)
