BET Awards winner, Ayra Starr, may have disrupted the ‘leadership’ of afrobeats artistes in Nigeria.
Wizkid, Burna Boy and Davido are often called the Big 3 but she does not see the first two at the top again.
Rather, she anointed Wizkid, Tiwa Savage and Rema, in a recent interview with Hot 97 FM.
Starr praised the trio for their contributions to the genre, with Savage representing the pioneering female force, Wizkid embodying global success, and Rema pushing boundaries with innovative sounds.
“My Afrobeats Big 3 would be Tiwa Savage, Wizkid and Rema. My solid Big 3,” she said.
Starr’s selection notably excludes Davido and Burna Boy, often cited alongside Wizkid as the traditional Afrobeats Big 3.
