A’Ibom: Essien Udim residents endorse Tinubu’s re-election bid

Some residents of Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom, have expressed their resolve to support the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu.

The residents made the expression at a mobilisation rally organised by the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) in Afaha Ikot Ebak, Essien Udim on Monday.

The residents also pledged to support the re-election of Sen. Godswill Akpabio and Gov. Umo Eno as senator and governor respectively.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event also featured the inauguration of RHI chapter executives, ward structures, and advisory council.

Speaking at the event, the President-General, RHI in Akwa Ibom, Mr Uwem Okoko, said that the initiative would deepen grassroots support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

He urged residents of area to work with the new structures to strengthen the party and prepare the grounds for the re-election of Tinubu, Akpabio and Eno.

“Today will remain historic, we have spoken as a people, clearly reaffirming our unity and determination to build a stronger state,” he said.

Also speaking, Mr Ntiedo Usoro, the RHI Coordinator, Essien Udim Local Government Area, thanked the leadership for finding him worthy of leading the initiative in the area.

Usoro, also the Chairman, Essien Udim Local Government Council, expressed his commitment to work with other leaders to ensure APC’s victory in the elections.
