Popular filmmaker, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has revealed some of the private battles she has passed through.

According to her, death threats are not new to her.

Omotola revealed this when she recalled the experience her family went through during the 2020  #EndSARS protests.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Rubbin’ Minds, the actress revealed that death threats against her children during the protests made her realise the risks were no longer just about her.

According to her, the experience led her to reassess her safety and that of her children, prompting her to shift from street protests to more targeted advocacy.

“I am used to death threats; I have received them many times.

“But I have never seen anything like what happened during EndSARS. It was intense; my kids started getting death threats. That was when it became real, and when I realised this was no longer just about me.

“When people started coming to my home and workplace looking for me, I knew it was time to think beyond myself. I had to protect others, especially my children,” she said.
