The Police in Osun have arrested two suspected motorcycle thieves and a receiver at Ipetumodu Area in Ife-North Local Government Area.
This is contained in a statement by the Police Spokesperson in Osun, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Osogbo.
Ojelabi said that the arrest was possible through strong collaboration with the local security outfits in the state.
He said that the police command recorded a significant breakthrough against motorcycle stealing and has arrested three suspects connected to alleged stealing and receiving stolen property.
“On Thursday, the suspects were intercepted along Oduduwa University roundabout, Ipetumodu and brought to the Ipetumodu Police Division.
“During the course of routine questioning and interrogation by operatives, the suspects confessed that, they stole the motorcycles from Iwara, in Atakumosa East Local Government Area of Osun,” he said.
Ojelabi stated that further discreet investigation led to the arrest of their receiver.
He said all the suspects have been charged to court.
The command’s spokesman said that the Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, appreciated the support of the local security outfits in the state.
He quoted Gotan as asking for more cooperation from residents in the fight against crime and criminals in the state
