The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps,(NSCDC), Anambra Command says it’s strengthening the bond of synergy and collaboration with JAMB for a smooth registration exercise and examination.
Mr Maku Olatunde, NSCDC Commandant, Anambra Command, said this in an interview with the News of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Awka.
He said that efforts were being made to ensure that educational exercise in the state promotes brilliant output and reshapes the manner of examination entrance into higher institutions.
The commandant said the command had put in place checks and balance techniques to forestall examination malpractices to ensure that candidates earn results measurable to their intelligence.
He said that tight security buttons were being made during the process of JAMB registration to avoid extortion of prospective candidates and that examination malpractices are checked.
“The command is working towards strengthening the bond of synergy and collaboration with JAMB for a smooth JAMB registration exercise and examination,” he said.
Olatunde restated the corps commitment to curbing extortion during JAMB registrations.
He also reiterated the command’s readiness to arrest and prosecute any individual or group of persons attempting to extort prospective candidates ahead of the commencement of the 2026 JAMB registration in Anambra.
He said this was agreed upon during a courtesy visit by the Anambra State Coordinator of JAMB, Dr Ifunanya Obiano, recently at the NSCDC State Command Headquarters.
Olatunde said the command is willing to collaborate and foster productive working relationship with JAMB and any other public institution that demands its services to promote corporate social responsibility.
He said the command is also willing to work with any individual or organisation that require it’s services to sustain and uphold sanity and cooperate social co-existence.
He described the visit of JAMB state coordinator as an important step towards strengthening the bond amongst government agencies in the state.
Olatunde said that the command, in the upcoming UTME registration, will deploy massive personnel to various registration centers.
He said this was to secure the facilities and ensure that prospective candidates were not deceived by touts.
He noted that the synergy between NSCDC and JAMB had yielded positive results in curbing examination malpractice in the past.
The commandant reassured the state JAMB coordinator, prospective candidates and members of the public of greater service from the command.
He noted that the corps see their engagements as a call to national duty.
He appreciated the great role being played by JAMB towards ensuring that the results of the candidates are credible and defensible.
Olatunde urged prospective candidates and the general public to sustain collaboration with the NSCDC.
According to him, all necessary provisions have been made to ensure that the 2026 JAMB examination is conducted in a serene environment across the state.
