Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf has urged 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I NYSC members in Kano State to serve with diligence, patriotism and national responsibility.
He spoke on Friday at their swearing-in at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Kusalla Dam, Karaye Local Government Area.
The governor, represented by Alhaji Hassan Kofar-Mata, Director of Special Services, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, welcomed the corps members to Kano State.
Yusuf described Kano as historic, urging them to integrate peacefully, saying, “Respect local customs and build lasting bonds.”
He encouraged full participation in orientation activities, noting the programme equips participants with skills and discipline for an impactful service year.
According to the governor, the NYSC remains vital for unity, selfless service and brotherhood, adding, “It strengthens national integration.”
Yusuf assured the corps members of the state government’s commitment to their safety and welfare throughout the service year.
Kano State NYSC Coordinator, Hajiya Halima Abubakar, expressed optimism about a smooth orientation exercise and a successful service year.
She praised the state’s support, citing camp renovations, and said, “Improved facilities enhance welfare and productivity.”
Abubakar said the intervention demonstrated the administration’s commitment to improving corps members’ welfare and working conditions.
